The River District Association Historic Murals Committee is ready to install a third mural in Danville’s Tobacco Warehouse District. We are now accepting proposals from professional artists to paint the mural at Gentry Lofts, 308 Craghead Street, facing Loyal Street! Note that the width of the mural art will extend no further than the front edge of the building to the windows (about 22 feet). Click here for the RFP, due 4 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2016!

3. Bridge Street Electric Substation fencing [and lighting] (Danville Utilities, City of Danville);
4. Bicycle Fix Station and multi-level water fountain at The Crossing at the Dan (Parks and Recreation, City of Danville); and
5. HOME sign refurbishment and installation as public art in the heart of the River District (City of Danville in collaboration with the Danville Historical Society, History United and the River District Association).

As the River District Association begins its new fiscal year, we are proud to announce the addition of 4 new members to our Board of Directors. The new appointments are John C. Hamlin (former Danville Mayor and Councilman), Michael Nicholas (lawyer and Vice Chair of the Commission of Architectural Review), Dr. Bruce Scism (President of Danville Community College), and Leslie Smith (Assistant Administrator of Danville Regional Medical Center). They join Jerry Amburn, Robert Brooks, Billy Crumpton, Dale Hutchens, Varun Sadana, Marietta Sanford, Barbara Seamster, Corrie Teague, and Von Wellington in this service.
We are also very pleased to announce the appointment of the following officers:

- Wendi Goods Everson, Secretary
- Ted Laws, Treasurer
- Phillip Hayes, Jr., Past-President
