On Saturday, October 10th from 2pm-5pm, Danville By Choice and Danville Parks & Recreation will be hosting a community chalk event. Come on down to the Children’s Festival between 2pm and 5pm to grab some chalk and let your creative juices flow!
At 5pm we will be giving out three prizes to the most creative chalk art that shows how much you love Danville. This event is free and open to the public and Danvillians of all ages are welcome to join! #chalkitupdville
THE 5TH ANNUAL RIVER DISTRICT FESTIVAL IS OCTOBER 10 AND 15 – 17, 2015
River District Festival
In 2011, the River District Festival was formed to celebrate the revitalization of the “River District” and historic Downtown Danville, as well as increase awareness and visibility of the area. The Festival serves as an event to bring all members of the community together to enjoy art, music and learning and to celebrate what is happening in our region.
The Festival has evolved into a three-day celebration with a Main Street business after hours, an art show, entertainment, Glow Run 5k and Half Marathon. Enjoy the merchants and restaurants of Downtown while enjoying acoustic music, have a blast glowing through the River District with the glow run after dark. Head Downtown on Saturday for a day filled full of fun, stop by our Showcase Alley to find out more about what is happening in our community and to shop local vendors. Explore the history and science behind the Dan River, learn about the cultures present in our community at the international showcase, and end the day with live entertainment in the Carrington Pavilion.
